Who were the commodity winners & losers of 2017?

2017 served up a lovely slice of humble pie.

To whom you might ask?

Investors who still thought that the commodity markets were predictable found 2017 to be tough to say the least.

And I have just the chart to prove it!

Commodities are volatile, and any investor who didn’t know what they were doing likely got burnt last year.

2016’s winners were suddenly 2017’s losers, and vice versa.

That being said, outside of natural gas, commodities were up across the board, and stretched into their second year of recovery after the collapse that plagued 2011 to 2015.

As always, 2017 saw some big movers and losers…
